am a fan of Stanley's books. I was looking to see if the Tobin books were available as Ebooks? I have read some of comments about re printing and thought this may be a viable option.
Just like to take this oppertunity to
thank Stanley for giveing me so much pleasure.

Hi again Stan.
Well, I've got through Cuckoo, and The Sewing Machine Man, and then of course onto Debt Collector. I enjoyed it so much that I started reading it again, before going on to The Courier. I got to the chapter A Long Long.........Day, when the replacement I'd ordered arrived. (I've read them so many times, maybe 30, that many are falling apart, so I have started to get better copies)and have started reading that from the beginning.
I looked through the rest of my collection and realised that I need to replace quite a few more. As these cost so much (2nd hand) is there any way to push selective reprints, or would this cost too much? As you can see, I still greatly enjoy these books, and am still hoping we can see a new one (maybe based on the old Tobin) this year????????
Kind regards,
Tony

Hi Tony,
Boy, you must rank as the Tobin fan of all time!
I'm afraid reprints are not possible. I get my occasional replacements from AbeBooks.
Many thanks, once again, for writing. You really make my day.
All the best...and happy reading.

Hi again Stan.
My last update was on 14th February when Russ was off to Paradise. Well now I'm halfway through Cuckoo, so will be starting Sewing Machine Man (AGAIN!!!!!) any day now.
Any news on the film or maybe a new book??
I was looking inside the signed cover and noticed that it was April 2005!!!!

Hi Tony
Many thanks for your message and, as always, for your continued support.
Yep, the years surely fly by.
No further news about a film yet; the negotiations are in the hands of others.
Fingers crossed.
Another Tobin book is still intended.
Great to hear from you.
Very best wishes,
Stan |

I was looking through my old emails and found it was five years ago that I posted a message on this site about buying 'Cuckoo' - with the delightful result of buying my copy and having it signed by the man himself - Stanley Morgan.
So now I'm reading through what people are posting these days and hell, one guy here had an idea-and-a-half! A Tobin boxed set!! If this ever comes to fruitition I'm putting my name down for one!
To date I have followed in Russ Tobin's footsteps - Liverpool, London, Majorca, Kenya, Bahamas, Miami (not been to Canada yet), Las Vegas, LA and Ireland. I've still to add Canada, Tahiti and Oz.
I'll get there yet....

Thank you so much for writing, Martin.
It's great to hear from you.
The problem with a boxed set would be the number of books involved - nineteen would require a pretty big box!
But I love the idea.
Happy travels.
Very best wishes,
Stanley |

Any further news on the movie of Tobin that was announced quite a while ago?
Also, any plans for a further adventure in book form?
All the best in 2010!

Hi David,
Many thanks for the message. Negotiations for the film are ongoing, but the tight economic climate is making life difficult for Russ - as for everyone else!
Got another book in mind.
Great to hear from you.

Hi Again Stan,
Hope everything is well with you and yours.
I'm still continually rotating the Tobin books and have just finished "On Safari" which means he's now off to "Paradise", so only another 13 and I'll be back to The Sewing Machine Man and then my favourite, The Debt Collector.
Well, just wanted to let you know we're still thinking of you and hoping for another book soon, and of the course that elusive film!
Kind regards,
Your biggest fan

Dear Stanley,
I just found the site and had to thank you for all the years of pleasure you have given me and my friends. When I was at school I introduced many friends to Russ Tobin and his expolits. I am now fifty and a couple of old schools mates still call me Russ!
One of my friends is now Chairman of a huge global advertising agency and I still call him Buzz(Malone). It is his 50th birthday tomorrow and I am going to celebrate with him in Chelsea. I really wanted to get him the box set of the Tobin novels. Do you know where I might find them? If you could send him a message via this site that would be wonderful. his name is Ian (Buzz) and a 50th birthday greeting from you would make his birthday.
Thanks again for all the laughs.
Warm regards,
Paul

And this is for Ian (Buzz):
All the best, Buzz. Have a great 50th and many more to come. (Like me, stay young forever).
And my thanks to both of you for your support.

Hi Stan,
Just wanted to say a Very Happy 80th Birthday for today. I know I've email'd you directly, but I thought it good for everyone to know.
I have been reading all the Tobin series now since the 70s, and after finding my "lost books" a few years ago, I read them in a continual loop, many times a year and am currently on The Debt Collector, my favourite.
Hoping for something new in 2010,
Kindest regards,
Tony

Stanley,
Truly an honour to be able to connect with you!
Am a huge fan of Russ Tobin, I inherited a bunch of the Tobin books from an older friend!
I'd love to buy the absolutely entire set...
It's damn difficult to get them in India, which is a bit of a bother, especially since absolutely everything else seems to find it's way here immediately!!
Do lemme know how I can get my hands on the Tobin books... and while I'm at it, I'd wanna get my grubby paws on your other works as well!
Am currently based in Goa in India, where I try and eke a living as a writer with a communications agency...
If you ever make a trip this side of the world do give me a shout!!
Cheers,
Rohit

Hello Stanley and everybody!
I'd like to say I really love reading the Debt Collector, though I've just started. The funny thing is that I'm pretty of Tobin's age now (24) and much of his thoughts bout the life are rather close to me. And the other funny thing is how I found the book of yours at some Old Book store in Saint-Peterburg Russia (where I live) and it costed me less than 1 Euro to buy :)
I guess I'll check the Trance after this one and some others later on too. You must have a really bright life, Stanley, I bet it's really something to be proud of. Thanks again.
And, Mr Morgan, I dunno if it's alright to ask you a question, not having all your interviews read, but as long as Im having a thoughts to begin writing:
How you got started to write, did you force yourself or was it easy from the begining??
all the kindest regards
ps: I'd be glad if someone write me back to discuss some bout this matter as well as some others! ;)

Oh WOW! I looked online a few years back for Stanley Morgan info...and finally there's siomething here!
I've been collecting Stanley Morgan books for a while now, probably since 1993, and I've actually never met anyone else who liked them! (perhaps I should have asked the older generation as I was quite young at the time!) I really love them, they are even more fun than Confessions films!
CANNOT wait for the Tobin film (or whatever it is they're doing!) They'd better get someone hot & spunky for the lead role - if it goes to someone wimpy like Jude Law I will kick off!
Anyway, thank you Stanley for your great books!
